Sergio Barrozo began playing bass professionally in 1962 with Roberto Menescal quintet, with whom he worked in various "pocket shows" accompanying singers of the era, like Nara Leão and Maysa. In 1965 he joined Edson Machado and Dom Salvador, to form the Rio 65 Trio that recorded two albums. And then the Trio participated in several shows at the time, like Marcos Valle and Leny Andrade in Baccarat night club in the famous Beco das Garrafas. The trio also recorded with Elis Regina the album "Samba Eu Canto Assim".
